We receive so many wonderful emails for people who have always wondered about having a more beautiful smile and straighter teeth and have been referred to us by friends and family. We encourage them, and you, to consider calling us to book a 60 minute free consultation. Barb, Natalka and Sheryl will take your digital photos and have them ready so that when Dr Mark does his exam he can better answer your specific questions. With all of this valuable information at hand will be able to assess your individual needs, provide you with treatment options (appliances, clear braces, Invisalign) and all associated costs down to the penny. We do interest-free monthly payments AND accept your assignable insurance. You will leave our office with digital photos of your teeth, detailed payment options and any other specific information as it applies to your individual needs. We are happy to provide shorter appointments, end of day consults, etc to help meet your special needs. “THE INVISALIGN® SMILE SURVEY” AT A GLANCE
The Invisalign Smile Survey was conducted by telephone by Harris Interactive on behalf of
Align Technology, Inc. The study was conducted on a representative sample of 1000
American adults -- both men and women -- between 18 and 50 years of age. The poll -- the
first national survey of its kind -- explored the importance of smiles in relation to business
and careers, dating and marriage, the social arena, and the overall value of smiles and selfesteem.

Smiles and the Social Arena
• 94% of those polled said they are likely to notice a person’s smile when they meet them
for the first time. People are less likely to notice someone’s eyes, height or figure.
• More than one-half (71%) believe people with a nice smile make friends more easily than
people with crooked teeth.
• Over one-third agree bad teeth overshadows the rest of a person’s appearance.
• An overwhelming majority of adults (85%) consider a person’s smile to be very
important at initial meeting.
Smiles and Self-Esteem
• Almost two-thirds (64%) agree that people with a nice smile are more outgoing.
• 77% think that wearing braces as an adult makes a person feel self-conscious.
• Over one-third of adults would trade a trip abroad, new wardrobe or other aesthetic
surgery for straight teeth.
• 87% think one’s smile is very important to their self-esteem.
• When asked which facial characteristic they would change if they could, one in four
adults (25%) would change their teeth/smile. Smaller proportions would change their
skin (17%) or nose (13%).
Smiles and the Opposite Sex
• 84% of adults perceive having an attractive smile as important for getting a date with Mr.
or Ms. Right.
• Over one-third would not be likely to set up their best friend on a blind date with
someone with crooked teeth.
• One-third would not be likely to kiss someone with crooked teeth.
• An overwhelming majority of adults (85%) consider a person’s smile to be very or
somewhat important at first meeting.
• Almost 9 out of 10 (86%) think people with good teeth are more attractive to the opposite
sex.

Another Fundraiser for Variety Club of Manitoba..

I'm feeling naked! Well-worn, well loved bracelets from my fabulous patients are starting to fall apart (hope everybody got their wish) and we're going to do it again.

Bring me in a bracelet and we will donate $3. to the Variety Club of Manitoba.

We had lots of fun last time and were able to help

a fabulous organization help kids in Manitoba so come on!!!!

What a wonderful time of year to slow things down, take stock of all of our blessings and show our friends and family how much we care...sounds corny but so true. I got a great hug today from Shane who is looking forward to heading to his uncle's farm in the country for the holidays and maybe helping his uncle calf the cows..

Whether it's rhinestones, leather and beads, woven strips, bands of silver and gold, or studs, piling on a clash of mismatched bracelets is a fun look you really can't get wrong. In fact, this lovely lady we spotted in the front row at United Bamboo gets it really right, mixing up highlighter pink, a woven friendship bracelet, and a pile of rhinestone bands (fyi: our friend Jenny Kang, a market editor at Lucky, has been sporting her own line of rhinestone bracelets accented with chartreuse cord!). Trying out this look is as simple as digging in your jewelry box, but if you need to fill in some gaps, we've found some inspiration to get it totally mixed-up perfect.

Visit from Alexander

This is my friend Alexander. While in for his check-up on Monday, Alexander showed me his bracelet collection. He noticed my bracelets, which are all gifts from patients, when he first came to see us.

Now Alexander has begun a collection of his own with bracelets from all of his family trips. What a cool idea!

Summer has finally arrived! Yahoo!

Hope you are all having a fabulous summer! Barb and I have just returned from the lake. The rain has subsided and the nights are hot and heavenly. We are seeing lots of old friends who have been away studying or travelling this year. Lots of braces coming off and braces going on before school! Did I say that? Yikes, a few more weeks and it's back to school.

These two gorgeous girls popped in this summer for a retainer check and a visit.
